The Issue
The client required the development of an exercise package to support in-house training in the form of an interactive CD-based exercise that Regional Offices could deliver without external support. The training focused on all elements of response and recovery by Environment Agency staff and others likely to work at multi-agency SILVER in the event of a major flooding incident.

Approach
Analytic Red designed a generic flooding scenario which could be used by Liaison Officers from any region. The exercise and supporting documentation is user friendly requiring minimal preparation by those delivering the exercise.

Benefit
The Environment Agency has a low cost and effective means of training Liaison Officers throughout the country. This does not substitute for live exercises but integrates with existing in-house training and offers an opportunity for other SILVER level members to participate in joint training and build common understanding of one another’s roles.
